This memorial website was created to celebrate the life of our courageous son, Mason Lindley who was born in North Carolina on December 10, 1998 and passed away on May 11, 2005 at the age of 6. We will remember the smiles and the laughter forever.

Mission Statement for the Mason Lindley Miracle Foundation is as follows:


In celebrating the memory of Mason Lindley, the Miracle Foundation is committed to advocating, supporting and volunteering for medical children's entities. Our wish as a non-profit foundation, is to provide a beacon of hope for children and families through an outreach of love, compassion, and music.





The 6 minute video below by filmmaker and friend,David Salmon,served as Mason's introduction as the Duke Children's Hospital Miracle Child for 2004 and led to his choice as the 2004 North Carolina Ambassador for the Children'sMiracle Network.Subsequently,the video was resubmitted in 2005 and won as National story of the year at the Children's Miracle  Network Television awards in March 2005.

July 2003-Named Honorary Deputy for AlamanceCounty Sheriff-Mason also meets and brings flowers to the 911 operator that took the call for his accident-event is filmed for WFMY-TV News Broadcast-(CBS Affiliate-Greensboro,NC)

February 2004- Mason Lindley and his parents (Chuck and Tracey Lindley) visited the
North Carolina House where Tracey testified on the quality of care Mason received at Duke. House committee members heard Tracey's awe inspiring tale of tragedy and triumph and then viewed Mason's champion video chronicling his battle.










March 18, 2004-To continue Mason's celebration, he was picked up at his home in a stretch H2 Hummer limousine courtesy of Capital Style and driven to Wal-Mart in Burlington where he was surprised with a shopping spree. Mason and his sister Lizzie were each given a suitcase to fill. Afterwards, Mason and his family headed to Raleigh to meet Lieutenant Governor Beverly Perdue at her office. Lt. Gov. Perdue presented Mason with a proclamation from Governor Easley in honor of his bravery and a North Carolina flag that had flown over the capitol in his honor.

March 22,2004 – Mason met and shook hands with President George Bush at a photograph session in the White House for the Children’s Miracle Network.Leanne Rimes joined us in Washington and continued on with us to Disneyworld.










March 24,2004-Mason met Marie Osmond and John Schneider in Florida for the Disney/CMN Celebration where later in the week he would receive his champion’s medal.










April 3,2004 –Mason was the honorary captain for the University of North Carolina Tarheels at the spring football game and was recognized for his incredible story and courage.He flipped the coin at the 50 yard line and watched the game from the deck outside of coach John Bunting’s office.









April 2004-Charity News - A Face Of Courage, Five-Year-Old Duke Kid Mason Lindley To Be In Jeff Burton's Pit At Talladega: NASCAR Nextel Cup Series driver Jeff Burton requested some "miraculous" assistance this weekend when he competes at Talladega Superspeedway in his No. 99 Duke Children's Hospital & Health Center Ford. Mason Lindley, a five-year-old from
Burlington, NC, who has battled against all odds in clinging to life, was asked to be Burton's pit during the race. Mason's amazing story is one that shows the face of courage and the truest champion. Burton, who, along with his wife Kim, has been a long-time supporter of Duke Children's Hospital and is eager to get the message out to people about Mason and Duke Children's.










May 2004- Mason shared the stage with comedian Jeff Foxworthy at the Duke Children’s Classic Golf Tournament.Mason was recognized for being selected the 2004 Duke Miracle Child.








 








May 2004-Mason and Dad involved in stressing lawnmower safety and his story.The story was filmed and featured by WFMY-TV News 2(CBS).










December 2004-Mason had successful bowel reconnection surgery and his ostomy was removed.The miracles continued as doctors warned he may go to the bathroom 12-16 times per day with loose stools;but;he never had more than an average of 4-5 stools a day.He exceeded the doctors expectations again and they were awed once again.

















March 2005-Mason’s Duke video was resubmitted to the Children’s Miracle Network for their television awards.It won as the national story of the year for 2005.Mason was also awarded the Celebration Circle of Life Award from Coram Healthcare for 2005.This award was given for his inspiration to others as he lived a normal life in spite of his medical obstacles.









March 21,2005-Mason filmed a promotional commercial with Nascar driver Jeff
Burton for the Duke Miracle Challenge Minicar race scheduled for April 2005.










May14,2005—After his sudden passing,Mason was given full honor guard at his funeral because of being an honorary Deputy Sheriff.His casket was draped with the American Flag given to him by Senator John Edwards(this flag also flew over the national capital in Washington,DC in his honor)He was given the same honors as a fallen officer as Taps was played at his graveside along with “Amazing Grace” on bagpipes.








 








May 21,2005—Mason was remembered in words,pictures,and song at the Duke Children’s Classic by Jeff Foxworthy and the kids choir.










Beyond…..Mason’s story still continues to touch lives and will reach out to more in the near future.Mason’s story will reach out internationally to inspire and help others thru N Rock United/Country-N-Rock Alliance (a musical and medicine based charity designed to advocate,honor,support and volunteer time to medically related children’s charities including Duke Children’s Hospital,The Children’s Miracle Network,Camp Sunshine,Victory Junction,and the Give Kids the World Village).All these charities look to attend the needs of the families in addition to the kids.
